President

• Preside over meeting of the organization and executive board 
• Prepare agendas for the monthly board meetings 
• Meet with the school principal quarterly 
• Communicate plans of the board with the principal for approval 
• Attend parent ambassador and SAC monthly meetings 
• Coordinate and delegate the work of all officers and committees so the purpose of the organization is served 
• Solicit volunteers for various committees 
• Communicate PTO messages to School Marketing Director for dissemination
• Actively recruit and maintain parent/guardian volunteers throughout year 

Vice President

• Assist in coordinating and planning for all PTO sponsored events 
• Accept delegated responsibilities and stand in for president as needed 
• Assist the president and other executive board members  
• Assist committee chairs with school related events as needed 
• Solicit volunteers for various committees 
• Fill in for other roles within the organization as needed 
• Actively recruit and maintain parent/guardian volunteers throughout year 

Secretary

• Take and compile meeting minutes 
• Distribute meeting minutes to members after each meeting 
• Send notices of meetings to membership 
• Assist executive board members as needed 
• Maintain all files and forms for the organization 
• Send thank you notes/sympathy cards to teachers, staff and partners 
• Actively recruit and maintain parent/guardian volunteers throughout year 

Treasurer  

• Receive all monies of the organization 
• Present a statement of accounts at every meeting 
• Keep accurate record of receipts and expenditures
• Pay out funds in accordance with the approval of the board
• Actively recruit and maintain parent/guardian volunteers throughout year
