Health + Wellness
We take both the mental and physical wellness of our students seriously at Corpus Christi School. We are blessed with a wonderful school nurse, Mrs. Jordan Kachel. A graduate of St. Pius Catholic School and McGill-Toolen Catholic High School, Nurse Jordan earned her nursing degree from Faulkner State Community College in 2008. She previously worked at Infirmary West in the ICU and ER. Jordan also worked at Mobile Infirmary in their Medical ICU. She is ACLS and BLS certified.
Nurse Jordan visits our classrooms throughout the year to teach our students about healthy habits, she administers medicine daily to those students who have medicines on file, and is always on hand should a medical need arise. We are grateful for her expertise and her dedication to our school!

social-emotional wellnessCorpus Christi Catholic School is pleased to announce that we will be beginning a new program similar to Rainbows, called Hearts In Healing, in December. Hearts In Healing will be a school support group for children in Kindergarten through 8th grade who have experienced loss due to a recent move, separation/divorce, or a death in the family. When something significant happens in a family, the entire family is affected, especially children. Although children go through the same grieving process as their parents, they often find it extremely difficult to verbalize their feelings. These groups provide peer support and a secure place for sharing so healing and acceptance can take place.
Participating students meet with other children from their class during an elective period to avoid the interruption of academic work during school hours. Groups will meet twice a month.
If your child is part of a divorced family, single parent family, stepfamily, living with grandparents, or has experienced the loss of a loved one or has recently moved, this group will provide a chance to share experiences with others. If you and your child feel this is a program he/she would like to participate in, please complete the form linked below.
